Cape Fear Hotel Info for Big South
Big South/Atlanta. Big South uses a Stay-to-Play policy. We are required to have at least 4 rooms per team using hotels of their choice.
We currently have two hotel blocks. The Club block is at the OMNI (see below). We have a second block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Downtown. This hotel is within walking distance and has a good rate. This block is NOT through THS (the tournament booking agency). More on this hotel below.
The Club is required to reserve rooms through THS or we will not be allowed to play. That is a fact. I currently have 12 rooms reserved at the Omni. The Omni does have kings available. If you are interested in staying at the Omni, which is the absolute closest hotel to the tournament (and an amazing hotel) let me know. Kings are all they have, which is not a best choice, but it’s what they have. I cannot book the Holiday Inn for the club. If we do not use the 12 rooms, we (the club) still pays for them. I will have all the coaches staying in the Club block, and any other folks who either want to stay at the Omni, or who do not book in time to get a room at the Holiday Inn. Again, the Club is REQUIRED to use THS.
To reserve a room at the OMNI, use the information below. The OMNI rate is higher than the HI obviously, but you are as close as you can get to the playing site and do not need to move your car at all. It is a 5 minute walk from court to your room. 15-Rage—We have a block of 4 OMNI rooms for you. You will go to the THS website and enter the Parent Password at the top right of the page. The password will go out via email. Please follow the directions and enter your info to reserve your room. 16-Crush—Same Info, different Parent Password. 17-Riptide—Same Info, different Parent Password.
To Book a room at the Holiday Inn is as follows. This is from Eric Ritter (15’s Rage) who has arranged it. Questions should be addressed to him.
To make a reservation for the Big South tournament you would need to call the Holiday Inn Downtown and reserve your room. There is a block of 35 rooms reserved for our club, but you need to tell them you are with the Cape Fear Volleyball Club. The rate is $129 and that includes a continental breakfast. This hotel is only two blocks from the World Congress Center where the tournament will be held. Do not try to book online or you will not get the Cape Fear rate. You need to call the hotel directly at the number below.

¨ Inclement Weather Policy: As a club, we will always err on the side of caution, but we cannot generally cancel a tournament based on “potential” bad weather. You as parents always have the final say when it comes to the safety of your child. Please understand that we must try to attend if at all possible. Entry fees are lost and the ability of the tournament director to host a good tournament is severely affected when teams cancel. The CR’s policy is posted here. |
