¨ Teams travel extensively. ¨ Additional practices. ¨ Highly motivated coaches. ¨ For advanced players who want to play in college. ¨ For motivated players who want to improve. ¨ Try-outs required. |
Program Summary |
|
¨ Basic National Team cost will start at $875. ¨ This figure will be adjusted when each team sets their practice and travel schedule. ¨ For the 2007-08 season, we had National teams at the 18’s, 16’s, 15’s, and 14’s age levels. ¨ For 2008-2009, we will offer National teams for 14’s through 18’s, however, numbers always dictate what teams we actually have There must be at least 9 qualified players who are willing to travel, practice and pay for the National program. The dedication required is just as important as the skills. |
|
¨ National Teams, as the name implies, will involve more travel than Regional Teams. While participation on National teams does not guarantee scholarship offers, the increased training and exposure do significantly increase the opportunities. National Teams will practice at least once a week every week, with a goal (as facilities allow) of up to 3 practices/week. Of the 10 girls on the 18’s National team last year, 7 are playing at the next level. Of the other 3, 2 were underclassmen and one chose not to play in college, turning down several offers.
¨ Costs for National Teams are higher. You are getting more. Players will have increased practice opportunities, travel to larger tournaments, play more and face tougher competition. In 2006-07, our National Teams traveled to Atlanta and Denver for National Qualifiers, to Richmond, VA and Spartanburg, SC for Out-of-Region play, as well as to several Regional tournaments. The cost for National play last year was around $1300, which included the flight to Denver. Program costs in 2007-08 were lower as we did not travel to Colorado.
¨ Fee’s for this program will be based upon the tournaments chosen by each team. Entries to major tournaments are much higher ($500 to $900 versus $125) than Regional tournaments.
¨ In order to be accepted into the major tournaments, entries must be sent immediately as these tournament fill up typically by the 1st of December. This requires each team to set their schedule by the second week in November AND fees collected to pay for the entries. This mandates a large portion of National fees be collected by mid-November, with all fees collected by mid-January. If fees are not paid, participation in tournaments and practices will not be allowed.
