¨ Inclement Weather Policy:  As a club, we will always err on the side of caution, but we cannot generally cancel a tournament based on “potential” bad weather. You as parents always have the final say when it comes to the safety of your child. Please understand that we must try to attend if at all possible. Entry fees are lost and the ability of the tournament director to host a good tournament is severely affected when teams cancel. The CR’s policy is posted here.

 

The Carolina Region Juniors Website has tournament dates, locations and pools for Regional Tournaments. Locations for tournaments will be added all through December and January. Check the site frequently for new info, changes, and updates.  The Carolina Region handles all of this.

**January 13th-15th, MLK Weekend: If your team has a PM Wave start, you may not need to stay on Friday night as you just need to be down there a couple of hours before the Wave starts (either 2 or 3 PM). Both Florence and Myrtle Beach are easy 2 hour+ drives, If in Florence, you will need reservations for sure for Saturday and Sunday nights unless you want to make the 2 hour drive each day.

 

Both Myrtle Beach and Florence Hotels must be booked by January 1st. The block is released after that date. Please act quickly. Myrtle Beach has plenty of locations, but the hotels near the Florence Civic Center are gone unless you have a group block.

 

Myrtle Beach Locations: Currently that is both 16’s teams, and 15-Rage.

 

I have 28 rooms reserved at the Hampton Inn which includes 10 Kings (with pullout sofa) and 18 Dbl. Queens. You will need to mention Cape Fear Volleyball and our Confirmation Number 80427534 to get into our block and get our rate. The hotel is the Hampton Inn West, 4551 Hwy 501, phone 843-236-0045, non-smoking, and the rate is $79, with check-out at 11 AM, check-in at 3 PM.

         *This Hotel is 1.5 miles (4 minutes) from the 15’s Rage

           *This Hotel is 14 miles, 22 minutes from 16’s Storm’s site if they play at the Horry Co. Rec. South site, 2.4 miles, 7 min. if they play at Crabtree Rec. Cntr. It is possible you could play at one site one day, the other the next. See the Winter Bump Newsletter where it talks about 16-Club. This hotel works for either site, though better for the Crabtree site.

           *This Hotel is about 30 minutes from the 16’s Crush team location. I do not recommend staying here. You are only about 60 miles from home and a very easy hour plus drive (don’t even have to get into NMB traffic if you take the back road shortcut—Hickman Rd of US 17). Mrs. S is looking for alternate hotels near there. More as I have it.

 

If you want to make your own plans, please let me know so I don’t worry about you (like if you want to stay at another hotel and use points or such).

 

Florence Locations: 13’s, all 14’s, and 15-Tsunami:

Currently I have the following rooms blocked for us in Florence. I will add a few more if they are available/needed. IMPORTANT: both of these hotels have cut-offs of January 1st to make your reservations. After that, the rooms are released.

1. Springhill Suites (Marriott) 843-317-9050, (spoke with Jennifer), under Cape Fear Volleyball,  includes an expanded continental breakfast.

         17 Kings with Pullout Sofas  Rate     $94 + tax

 

 

2. Hampton Inn   843-629-9900, (Spoke with Kenny Scoby) under Cape Fear Volleyball, includes a free breakfast.

         11 Queen Dbl’s, 3 Kings w/o Pullout Sofas  Rate    $94 + tax

The Hampton does have more Kings available, but I did not ask to hold those. You may call and add one if a King will fit your needs.

 

All of the above rooms must be booked by January 1st or they will be turned back in for other clubs to reserve.
