Tournament info page: the 411 on upcoming tournaments.

We have reached the end of the season, just four teams playing after this weekend. Be sure you check the location for your tournament. I don’t think any will change, but double check to make sure.

Its been a great season. Last Sunday’s play-around was fun and there were surprises. The 15 Nationals, missing 3 players, lost to the 14 Nationals who were cranking it.

The 16 Nationals got a 5 point handicap over the 18 Nationals, and kept that lead most of the game. The 18’s finally took the lead at 28 (30 point game), and finally won 31-29. A great match which no one should have lost.

The 18 Nationals finished off the night against the female coaches, with the coaches taking a 32-30  victory. It was a battle with no prisoners taken. The old expression “guile and experience will beat youth and enthusiasm most of the time” was proven true once a again (but just barely). And it could have gone either way.

For the hard core who stayed around to watch the pickup game between the female coaches and the male (mostly-thanks Emily A.) coaches. The girls won it, but again, it was a 2 point game. Lots of fun, and I, for one was sore the next day. The ankles reminded me why I quit playing a couple of years ago.
